An IMS Global Learning Consortium Project Group Under Formation—Special Interest Group (PUFSIG) is focusing on ePortfolio requirements. The IMS ePortfolio specification v1.0 was released in June 2005. Since this time valuable experience has been developed working with the specification and ePortfolio technology and practice has matured. The PUFSIG is now seeking to determine what kinds of profiling and prototyping work can make the specification more useful and accessible to the e-learning developers and users.
The PUFSIG is seeking input from the e-learning community to help focus and prioritize the effort. It is expected that the PUFSIG will produce a formal Charter describing the scope of work by the end of January 2008. Subsequent profile and prototype development would be completed during 2008.
